It has been almost 2 months since the war in Ukraine closed everything in the country including our friends’ business in Kyiv: Sabotage Wine. Not only were they forced to cancel the Supernatural Wine Festival, but a missile attack also destroyed most of their stock. Early on, we reached out to help our friends at Sabotage by donating 120 bottles of Domaine VSN to a cause of their choice (people could make donations and receive a bottle in return). Now, 2 months later, more than 50 winemakers and bars have joined by donating wine to the Sabotage cause.
We have now re-opened for donations to support our friends Yulia, Misha, Vlad and the rest of team Sabotage, their families, and the natural wine community in Ukraine. Through the VSN web shop, three tiers of donations are available – inspired by a mystery raffle:
30 EUR + shipping - VSN will send 1 randomly selected bottle
80 EUR + shipping - VSN will send 3 randomly selected bottles
150 EUR + shipping - VSN will send 6 randomly selected bottles
For this round of donations, we have added a second label with an artwork made by Sergiy Maidukov, a Ukrainian artist (you can read more on Sergiy’s experiences and art here). The original artwork was created over a period from summer 2021 to when the war broke out, Sergiy searching for a way to portray his country as strong, calm, colorful and light. Eventually, it became a symbol of life – how, despite everything, people continue to live, build, create, love, laugh and dream.
